TEADIT’S ORIGIN™ TECHNOLOGY RECEIVES SEAL OF APPROVAL
Teadit North America President, Chris Day, is calling their latest achievement, the SEAL Award, “One for the thumb!” This award rolls in as the 5th for Teadit’s Origin™ Technology, currently utilized in the RC510 Gasket.
This recognition, however, is different from the previous awards which all focused on the innovation of the technology itself. The SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement and Leadership) Award recognizes Environmental Initiatives and is the first accolade for Teadit’s Origin™ Technology based on the sustainability of its manufacturing process. This is something that hits close to home for Teadit, as their mission is “Sealing for a Safer and Greener Tomorrow.” The award was evaluated, and selected, based upon key criteria such as, impact metrics, innovation, sharing of insights, and investment levels.
Teadit’s Origin™ process is an innovative, revolutionary, and patented technology that eliminates wasteful consumption of material by dramatically reducing scrap generated from traditional gasket cutting processes through winding Teadit Tealon™ PTFE tape into a final gasket, thus decreasing its environmental footprint. During the manufacturing process nearly 100% of the raw materials are used, which helps to make PTFE practical and affordable. An estimated best-case yield for a standard 60” x 60” sheet of material is approximately 48-53%. Therefore, depending on the sizes of the gaskets being cut approximately 50% material waste is generated in an ideal scenario. This scrap usually cannot be recycled, therefore generating waste that ends up un landfills or elsewhere in the environment. Finally, Teadit's Origin™ RC510 gasket provides outstanding sealing characteristics of an elastomeric design with the superior chemical resistance, reliability, and durability of PTFE.
